Beautiful Pigs!
by Pete on October 8th, 2011

Lots going on with the farm! In two weeks we harvest the last of our meat chickens for the season. Hard to believe it's the last group. Time has flown! The capons are getting big and meaty so for all those waiting for a nice big capon...the wait is almost over.

The pigs have grown exceptionally well this year and are a bit larger than normal. But that's a good thing. It means we did something right! They certainly have had their fill of roots and grasses this season and have had lots of excercise running through the woods and playing in the fields. We've had an endless supply of pasture for them to nibble...and this weekend lots of apples headed their way. Check out the 1 minute video of the pigs grazing the clover...

I love their lil piggie tails wagging and the cute snort sounds! It's nice to see them in action. They really do have a good life!
