Meat Chickens!
We strive to grow the healthiest, best tasting, and most humanely treated birds possible.  All of our birds are raised and cared for by us.  We grow primarily two types of meat birds, the large-breasted Cornish-Cross and the slow-growing incredibly tasty red feather broiler from France (Freedom Rangers, aka the Red Bro). The birds are moved to pasture within three weeks of hatching where they have total freedom to enjoy the fresh air, grass, bugs and unlimited access to food and water.  Our birds are also fed a grain ration from Green Mountain Feeds - a certified organic feed company located in Vermont.

Eggs!
We have a beautiful flock of hens which live on lush green pasture in the Spring, Summer and Fall and provide us with wonderful fresh and very tasty eggs.  Our birds enjoy all the freedoms a chicken should have.  They live a wonderful stress free life.  In the cold dreary days of New England winters the birds live happily and freely in a large sun-lit greenhouse on the farm. Our birds are fed a grain ration from Green Mountain Feeds - a certified organic feed company located in Vermont.

Pastured Pork!
We love pigs!  We continue to have great fun with these wonderful animals.  The pigs grow on large fields where they will have many acres to roam, enjoy fresh pasture as well as comfortable shade in a partly wooded area.  We also grow crops for them to "hog off" including rye, peas, oats, and sorghum-sudan grass.  The pigs are fed a continuous grain ration and are "finished" on a custom grain ration from Green Mountain Feeds - a certified organic feed company located in Vermont. This "Pete and Jen Pig Finsher" ration contains  barley, field peas and wheat - NO SOY for the last 2 months!

Rabbit!
We have a vibrant and active rabbit herd.  Jen is head rabbitress and really enjoys raising and breeding these wonderful creatures.  We currently have a small herd of New Zealand, Californian, and Satin breeds consisting of two bucks (Willie and Norman) and twelve does.  Rabbits are harvested continuously and young rabbits will be "finished"on pasture in 2010 to enhance flavor and meat quality.

Lamb / Mutton!
We were approved for a sustainable agriculture grant (SARE) in 2008 to trial running sheep in the same pasture as our chickens.  We continued the research in  2009 and realized we love the sheep (and they save lots of energy mowing the fields ahead of the meat birds!).  We will continue to grow 6-8 sheep and lambs per year which will graze in the same fields as our chickens.  When we harvest the sheep/lamb in the fall, they  sell out quickly, so be sure to sign up for our e-mail list and be the first to be notified when they become available!
