Rabbits
ABOUT OUR RABBITS
Jen has fully embraced her role as "rabbit herd-dress." She has quickly developed a small herd of New Zealand White, Satin, and Californian breeding rabbits which are multiplying rapidly. Our rabbits are extremely spoiled and enjoy fresh alfalfa hay, a special "treat" blend of sunflower seeds and whole oats, as well as all-natural alfalfa-based nutrition pellets.
Rabbits supply a wonderful by-product - their manure - a perfectly pelletized slow-release fertilizer for all your organic gardening needs. We are also hoping to find a source for tanning the rabbit hides which we would offer for sale. Stay tuned for that venture!
NEW in 2010 we will begin finishing the growing meat rabbits on pasture in portable rabbit huts!
The young, growing bunnies will be moved to their portable pens at five to six weeks of age and grow for another month or so before harvest. We expect the meat quality to be superior to any other meat rabbit on the market. Stay tuned for photos of the backyard bunnies on grass!
BREEDING STOCK
We do sell breeding stock and rabbits for pets ($50 each). We have several wonderful breeds that we breed for health, vigor, and excellent mothering. Contact us if you are interested!
Our breeding stock welcome your visits. Each hutch has a name tag for easy identification.
